Finishing Touches | French Boudoir

French Interiors always strike me as the most luxurious - They ooze glamour, sophistication & are instantly recognisable. It's becoming easier and easier to recreate this look with there being so many replica pieces available, making a much cheaper alternative to compete with what I would call 'the real deal'.

To create your French Boudoir you need a neutral colour base. Beiges, mushrooms, taupes & pastel blues are all colours that work brilliantly especially with additions of metalic tones to add that extra bit of luxury. Furniture is predominantly vintage influenced, white washed wood makes for a dramatic impact however pastel coloured woods will work just as well as long as they have that 'shabby chic' vibe to them. To tie everything in together it would be useful to bring in gold fabrics, wether it be with bed linen, throws or cushions - Selecting these in a baroque or toulle de jouy print works brilliantly.

  1. Love your style. What about a clock? Have you heard of Newgate Clocks, I think they would fit into the overall scheme here really well. I found Newgate at James Samson - www.jamessamson.co.uk/clocks/newgate.html
