Inspirations | Industrial Lighting At The Purple Pig Boro

Welcome to the first of my Inspirations posts, I'll be publishing these on a regular basis as I love whipping my SLR out and taking a few snaps of things I really consider to be inspirational interiors. Today I'll be looking at Industrial Lighting, in particular that at The Purple Pig Boro.

The Purple Pig Boro is a pretty new to the area, ingeniously branded Burger Bar. I've been a few time and eaten delicacies such as the 'Snoop Hoggy Hogg' & 'Chilli Chilli Bang Bang' but it's the Interiors that really keep me coming back - I'm a sucker for fabulous lighting.

I tend to get drawn to this style of lighting, for me there's just nothing like it. I love the raw industrial iron finish against the lamps & the shadows they create around the room are just phenomenal especially when the nights are drawing in.

Adding this style of lighting to your Interior can totally transform the space & give it a much edgier appearance. Below are 5 more examples of Industrial Lighting.

1. Shades Of Light (£298.15)
2. Urban Cottage Industries (£52.80)
3. Barn Lighting Electrics (£90.32)
4. Etsy (£47.50)
5. YOBO (£14.99)

Finishing Touches | Morocco

Welcome to the first of my Finishing Touches posts, I'll be publishing these on a regular basis as I think they're a really good visual when deciding on a theme for your Interior. Today we'll be looking at Morocco, not going unfortunately, but bringing Moroccan inspired accessories to your home is (sort of) the next best thing.

Moroccan Interiors seem to be becoming more and more popular with many of the high street home stores stocking items reflecting the easily recognisable trend.

Traditionally Moroccan Interiors have profoundly neutral white wash bases with a high impact injection of heavily patterned floor or wall tiles. Intricate furniture is in abundance and often covered with warm coloured eastern fabrics to attract the eye. The fabrics used in Moroccan Interiors usually have a patterned inner surrounded by a tasseled outer, again adding to interest & texture. However the trend is majorly maintained through accessories, detailed wrought iron lighting & mirrored mosaic decorations tie everything in perfectly.

Below are my top 10 Finishing Touches to recreate a Moroccan inspired Interior.

1. Bronze Medium Lantern (£15.00)
2. Chocolate Foot Stool (£39.99)
3. Decorative Mosaic Ball (£1.99)
4. Decorative Sitting Buddha (£7.99)
5. Large Square Mirror (£29.99)
6. Elizabeth Hurley Lamara Duvet Set (£56.95)
7. Antique Gold La Perla Cushion (£15.00)
8. Burnt Orange Throw (£120.00)
9. Bronze Floor Lamp (£69.99)
10. Ornate Pendant Lamp (£24.99)

Introductions | Claire McPartland Interiors

Welcome to Claire McPartland Interiors & my own little space of Internet -  It's lovely to see you! Introductions first, I'm Claire & a Graduate Interior Designer (clue's in the title, right?) This is me below! I'm 24, originally from Middlesbrough in the sunny North East of England but just recently I've relocated to the hustle & bustle of Leeds City Centre.

My passion for Interiors has been apparent for as long as I can remember, I grew up in the 90's when watching 'Changing Rooms' was a monumental weekly occurrence & something to look forward to - For me anyway! I've always been more creative than I have academic but the Interior Designers from the show really inspired me to explore my creativity at a much more in depth level. I knew almost immediately Interior Design was a career I needed to pursue. At 14 I studied GCSE level Art & Design, which quickly turned into A Levels & eventually lead me to gain a Bachelor or Arts Degree (With Honours) in Interior Design. It's true what they say - Time flies when you're having fun!

I'll be using this little space of Internet to display my portfolio as well as a place to document Inspirational Interiors & my career journey. I hope you'll stick with me & enjoy what I'm posting - It's going to be an exciting ride!
